NEW & IMPROVED Harvest Party

This Facebook post ran a little long so I decided it's worthy of a blog article. So, here we go!

I wanted to take a little time to mention this NEW & IMPROVED Harvest Party/Grape Stomp. The old Harvest Parties were fun but we've added a lot of depth to this new one and it starts with Micaela Stewart, our Special Events/Wine Club Manager.

Let's start with the menu. You won't find any burgers and dogs at this event. Our Harvest Inspired Rustic lunch includes Roasted Pork Loin with a Granny Smith Apple Chutney (GF), Pasta in a creamy Alfredo sauce with brocolli and mushrooms, Roasted Asparagus & Baby Carrots, Rice, and a Mixed Greens Salad. We'll have plenty of wine on hand to pair with your robust lunch and it's all served right at the beginning of the event (Noon).

Then there's the winery tours. In past years we would set up the winery production equipment to view. We'd take you around and say things like "here's how this thing works", without any actual harvest going on. This year we have decided to schedule the event right in the middle of harvest so that you can see all of the wines at different phases of development. We're going to set up half of the room for you and the band and then
the other half will be for viewing our production team. Sarah, Mike, Kari, and myself will be hard at work
moving wines around, doing additions, fermenting, and generally being tired all for your viewing pleasure! All joking aside, we'll be able to walk you through the entire process and taste wines that are partially through the process as we go. Come armed with all of your wine making questions and I'll be there to answer them.

Once we have you all fueled up we'll get into my favorite part of the competition. The GRAPE STOMP. My team and I will pick Pinot Noir grapes in the morning so they're fresh for the event. Due to bad feelings, finger pointing, and well let's just say it cheating in the past we weigh the buckets prior to the event to make sure all teams start with the same amount of fruit. I can't tell you too much about the event except that you'll want to have people on your team that are good with their feet AND their hands. Squeezing is just as important as stomping in this event. That's all I will say. So, once we have a champion of the Order of the Purple Foot you will win a prize and have your team name permanently enshrined upon our yearly trophy. We will keep the trophy display in our tasting room year round and give you full social media and bragging rights attained within.

As if being ordained into The Order of The Purple Foot wasn't enough we'll also be giving a prize to the best dressed Lucy from her famous grape stomping I Love Lucy episode. Oh, and LIVE music by The RIFFL Band during the event! Ok, that's my extended version of a very important Facebook post and here's the link to come and join in the fun Sunday, October 9th from 12-4p
